Last year my husband got me the best birthday gift he could ever get me. I’ve always asked for chickens and he finally made it happen. Our home has enough space that I was able to get a walk-in coop and four chickens. I don’t know how he is going to ever beat this gift but I’m glad he did it! Not only am I enjoying them, but my children love them. They have become the favorite family pets and he sure enjoys the scrambled eggs in the morning!

Each and every one of them has a different personality and is fun to watch. I always have friends and family asking what the chickens are up to today. So I decided I would share my chicken adventures as a backyard chicken owner. I’ve noticed the difference in how I do things in my small backyard setting versus how someone with a large plot of 1-2 acres would handle chickens. You don’t need to have so much space to still have chickens in the yard. All you need is a spot for them to graze a little and a house.

Soon I hope to fill my blog with stories to share of all my crazy chicken adventures. I’m sure to have many. Hope you can come along with me to learn how it goes.
